Venba follows an Indian Tamil family after they move to Canada in the 1980s, using food as the thread that ties together home, language, loss, and adaptation. The story centers on Venba, her husband Paavalan, and their son Kavin, moving across years of family life through short scenes built around cooking, conversation, and the recipes Venba carries with her.
The game's cooking puzzles are tactile but intimate rather than technical. Players reconstruct damaged recipes, infer missing steps, and prepare dishes by reading context clues from a cookbook and the kitchen itself. The challenge is usually about understanding order, tradition, and intention: when to add ingredients, how to layer a dish, and how a half-remembered instruction can become a way back to someone else's voice.
Venba's presentation gives the smallest domestic moments a vivid shape.
